Your New Role:We have a fantastic opportunity for a Assistant/Small Works Project Manager to join our Regional Accommodation Maintenance Service (RAMS) contracts part of the MOD’s Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS). We have a few available positions covering:North – North Yorkshire/ North England, Scotland West & East, and Scotland NorthThe Small Works Manager plays an important part in act as the stakeholder interface on site to the delivery of all Amey contractual outputs and manage Supply Chain to ensure that all projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.The standard hours of work are 37.5 Per WeekWork-life balance and flexibility are key for our success. And with a network of offices across the UK, we’re open to discussing working options that suit you.You will be responsible for:Retain ownership to provide support and advice to the Area Management team throughout the construction phase.Prepare work packages for tendering, assist and champion the following specialisms within the Damp & Mould Projects Team: -
  • Supervision of site managers and workforce
  • Quality Assurance of Works/ safety audits
  • Planning, directing, and controlling activities
  • Agreeing small works packages for properties
  • Proactive performance management of the Project Supply Chain
  • Liaising between contractors & families
  • Collaborate with stakeholders
  • Understanding and management data for properties
  • Producing weekly reports to line manager and client
  • Chair area meetings and produce minutes

  • Management level qualification in H&S and Environment (e.g. SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH, NEBOSH etc) – desirable
  • Qualification - HNC Building studies or other engineering discipline
  • Small Construction Works experience or trade background
  • A knowledge/experience of working with Damp & Mould
  • CDM awareness
  • Excellent communication & organisation skills, being able to build relationships
  • Have good IT skills – use of Microsoft
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions
  • Full UK Driving License
Ideally you will be qualified in the construction industry with experience in Construction, Property Maintenance.In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have if you have experience in Asbestos, Temporary works supervision, and a sound understanding of Ecology regulations relating to Bats although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.What we offer you:When you join us, we can offer flexibility, career development, a choice of benefits and support that help you through all life’s ups and downs.
