To support in the day-to-day running of the Marketing team, by supervising the team and deputising for the Marketing Manager when needed. Also, assisting and supporting with the following:

  • Ensuring the consistent delivery of the Chester Zoo brand identity (onsite and offsite) to enhance the reputation of Chester Zoo as a world class visitor attraction and conservation charity.
  • Planning, implementing and evaluating marketing campaigns (digital & traditional media) to achieve visitor and commercial targets, to promote a range of commercial and educational opportunities and to promote awareness and support our conservation work.
  • Managing agencies to deliver campaign elements where required, assisting with the delivery of media campaigns and creative approach.
  • Overseeing the creative approach and implementation of marketing campaigns, to ensure the successful delivery of a robust and innovative marketing mix.
  • Managing suppliers to ensure a high quality service, value for money and adherence to the brand guidelines and within agreed budget.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in marketing (ie Degree, CIM Diploma), another relevant qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in a busy marketing department and managing a team
  • Experience of commissioning design projects, and managing print processes
  • Experience of campaign planning / project management
  • Experience of managing relationships with external suppliers and procurement processes
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • An interest in Chester Zoo’s mission relating to conservation and education.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, liaising with colleagues across the zoo to deliver multi-dimensional projects

Hours of work are 40 hours per week from 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch break. Some weekend and evening working may be required, for which time off in lieu or overtime will be given.
