We are seeking a highly competent andexperienced Assistant Manager to join one of our busy teams within our buzzing Creative Division. Supporting the teams Partner and Manager, thisis an all-encompassing opportunity; from managing the day to day running of ourclients financial affairs through to preparation of year end accounts files,and everything in between. The successful candidate will also play a key partin the development of the teams trainees and junior staff, acting as a rolemodel and providing support and guidance as requested.


Key Assistant Manager Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day workload for self and junior staff.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Commercially aware approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills with team and clients

Specific Role Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-daybookkeeping, financial reporting, payments and budgeting for clients within theMedia and Entertainment industry ranging from individuals, unincorporated businesses,partnerships and incorporated companies
  • Working successfully withthe team managers and partners to ensure that all statutory deadlines andrequirements for accounts, tax, VAT and that any other areas of financialcompliance are met
  • Preparation of year endaccount files using resources available and assisting with gathering therelevant information to complete P11Ds, company, personal and partnershipreturns to ensure the timely filing and payment of client compliance
  • Preparation and review ofVAT returns for manager sign off and client approval.
  • Managing all receivables,payables and assisting with the maintenance and review of accounting records,raising issues to relevant managers
  • Handling all aspects ofthe clients financial and personal affairs, as per the clients needs andacting as the first point of contact for clients, their other advisers andthird parties, liaising directly with them in a timely and professional manner
  • Assisting with clients foreign taxesand overseas compliance
  • Preparation andassistance with tour budgets and tour accounting including reconciliation oftour settlements
  • Regularly updating the managersand partners to discuss workload, client issues or concerns and managing theirinput as appropriate
  • Delegating to andoverseeing team members responsible for payments and data entry, assisting themwith their development and managing their workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • General administration asper the requirements of the portfolio

  • Sound technical, commercial and risk awareness alongside advancedunderstanding of policies, procedures and processes, strives to apply owntechnical excellence and articulates risk with issues whilst appreciative ofwhen to refer more complex technical issues up
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and remain mindfulof sensitive issues
  • Excellent IT skills along with the ability to use software effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Is relatively autonomous with regards to client and general tasks, with anactive interest in promoting a professional and collaborative working practiceacross the firm
  • Confident, professional and coherent in dealings with partners, staff anddirectly with clients and is responsive to the needs of others
  • Exceptionalwork ethic and desire to provide an outstanding client service, with anin-depth understanding of both internal and external clients and their needs aswell as the environment they operate in

Qualifications and Experience

  • ACCA/ACAqualified or substantial relevant experience
  • Minimum of 4 years general experience in accountancy
  • Music industry accountancy experience preferred, but not essential
  • Someexperience leading teams, including training more junior/semi-seniors

  • Hours: 9.30am 5.30pm
  • Flexible working: 3 days (+) in office, 2 days at home
