We are currently looking to source an Assistant Headteacher for an SEND setting in the Kirklees area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join their team and lead them on the next stage of their journey. This full time role is to start in September and could be permanent for the right person.

They are a Specialist School catering for children and young people with severe and complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH).

The children and young people are supported to do this by a range of highly skilled staff who help to ensure that all children and young people will experience a broad range of different opportunities and enjoy their childhood.

The Successful Candidate Will
  • Have successful senior leadership experience in special education, working with students who have additional and complex needs and behavioural complexities.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills to lead, motivate and further develop a hardworking and talented staff body.
  • Lead with an inspirational style, developing strong academic, co-curricular and pastoral systems.
  • Lead by example - with integrity, creativity, resilience, and clarity.
  • Have the character and values that align with a school focused both upon inclusivity and striving for much higher achievement and attainment.
  • Sustain wide, current knowledge/understanding of education.
  • Pursue continuous professional development.
  • Instil a strong sense of accountability in staff for the impact of their work on pupils’ outcomes.
  • Create an ethos within which all staff are motivated and supported to develop their own skills and subject knowledge, and to support each other.
  • Have high expectations for students and demonstrate a track record of improving outcomes for students.
  • Create an outward-facing school which works with other schools and organisations to champion best practice and secure excellent achievements for all students.
Typical school hours are between 08:00-15:30. Please speak with your consultant regarding any flexibilities that you need around these times.

*** You MUST have a recent DBS that is on the DBS Update Service. If you do not have one, you will be required to undertake a new one through Provide Education All candidates are also required to hold a minimum of Level 1 in Safeguarding Children.***
