Assistant General Manager, Full Time, Monday - Friday, 40 Hours Per Week, based at the warehouseSaltmeadows Park,Nielson Road, Gateshead, NE10 0EQ

We are looking for an experienced administrator with a confident approach to customer care to join our team as Assistant General Manager. Previous supervisory or line management experience is preferred but not essential.

The post holder is the first point of contact for customers and will have day-to-day responsibility for delivering three key business outcomes – maintaining accurate systems, ensuring order turnaround targets are met, and for providing exceptional levels of customer care.

To effectively discharge their responsibilities, the Assistant General Manager will collaborate with our Warehouse team, along with staff in our schools and ESF’s central services team, and will deputise for the General Manager when required. Naturally, in a role such as this, the post holder will be flexible to vary their working hours to suit the needs of the business – particularly during peak summer trading.

Working predominantly from the EAS Schoolwear Distribution Centre next to Gateshead Stadium, the Assistant General Manager will occasionally be required to travel to (and work from) our schools.

Further information is available in the job description and person specification.

Join us and in addition to working with committed and helpful colleagues, the Trust can offer access to the following benefits:

  • Defined benefit pension scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free parking
  • Employee centred and family friendly policies and practices that support you in and beyond the workplace
  • Enhanced sick pay, maternity leave and paternity leave (dependent on length of service)
  • Competitive holiday entitlement for support staff (minimum 25 days, plus bank 8 holidays per annum, pro-rated for part-time post-holders)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Funded eye tests and glasses for DSE users (subject to T/Cs)

Emmanuel Schools Foundation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. Where the post is engaged in regulated activity, and/or an opportunity for contact with children the position will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. In addition, as part of the shortlisting process, and in accordance with statutory guidance, we may carry out an online search (for publicly available material) to help identify any incidents or issues that have happened which we may want to explore with shortlisted applicants at interview.
