  • Part time I Nights*

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Development Coach to join our young persons supported housing team. To work through the night and help young people aged 16-18 facing homelessness by managing our supported housing building and making sure our customers are safe and well in their homes.

    Job Requirements
    • You’ll be the first point of contact for customers during the night. You’ll welcome new customers, take emergency referrals and sign-post customers to support if needed.
    • Make sure our customers are good neighbours within the community by making sure they follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
    • You’ll mediate with customers, helping to solve issues and deescalate challenging situations if needed.
    • Keep our customers safe and well in their accommodation by completing health and safety checks, following safe-guarding procedures and by reporting any issues found.
    • You’ll be on hand to provide emotional support for customers if they need it.
    • Record accurate information in customer files and handover book.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues supporting each other to achieve role, team, customer and organisational objectives.
    • Participate in team and communication activities to maintain knowledge and seek support to meet customer and ser-vice requirements.
    • Take personal responsibility for work tasks in line with role and team objectives, as well as your own development by agreeing personal development plans and undertaking training to continually develop your skills and knowledge.
    • Record any incidents appropriately and in detail.

    What We’re Looking For
    • A good level of education with both an English and Maths GCSE
    • Someone with a level 3 NVQ in health and social care or be willing to complete it
    • 12 months experience of working with young people, working in a support role and working in a residential setting.
    • Someone with great ICT skills able to use Microsoft Office and an online case manager system.
    • Someone who can be understanding and empathetic to the challenges faced by young people experiencing homelessness.
    • Understanding of complex needs such as mental health, drug and alcohol use.
    • Someone with knowledge and experience of delivering trauma informed support
    • An ability to de-escalate challenging situations and someone who can make informed decisions quickly.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Working with customers with complex needs can bring its own challenges so you’ll need to be resilient, passionate, motivated, a good team player, committed, confident and assertive.
    • Someone who can work on their own during the night for up to 10 hours.
