Scale 6 £13,619 actual salary

A great opportunity has arisen for an assistant chef to join the team at Trinity Academy. This is a permanent position which requires you to work 30 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days. You will be responsible for supporting the catering manager with the planning and delivering of healthy, nutritious menus to 1,300 students on a weekly basis across two on site restaurants.

The Assistant Chef is responsible to the Catering Manager for:

Support in the planning of nutritious menus on a three week rotation in line with government guidelines

Serving breakfast and lunch to students and the Academy staff team

Assist in leading an effective team to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and the serving areas

Adhere to all healthy and safety guidelines and maintain food safety practices

Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen and surrounding areas

Order, rotate and manage stock

Communicate effectively with other departments

Motivate and work with a small staff team on a daily basis

The Successful Candidate Will

Have been successful in a similar role for at least two years

Be willing to undertake an enhance DBS check

Be a great communicator both verbally and literally with good IT skills

Be proactive with a driven and energetic approach to their work

Have exceptional organisational skills and an eye for detail

Be a real team player with superb interpersonal skills
