Experience in a construction environment would be preferred but applicants must have extensive experience in a buying role .

Role:- To source suppliers, agree preferential credit limits and arrange special discounts in order to purchase designated goods and services at the correct quality, keenest price and to be delivered on a timely basis. To ensure that bought out items are available when & where required, by use of order confirmation system and to communicate this information to the relevant departments.
Duties:-
Purchase Orders
To purchase materials and services from material requisition using comprehensive purchase orders on Sage Job Costing. Filing and maintenance of purchase order register and job file. Ensure that contracts managers, relevant departments and satellite offices have copies of relevant orders.
Order Confirmations
Actively chase order confirmations, confirm delivery dates and all other details are as purchase order (or current expectations). If variance exists notify the relevant persons / departments. If original date cannot be achieved inform person who raised MR and Material controller of any expected relevant disruptions. Notify contracts managers of all deliveries expected to direct sites.
Finance
Confirm material deliveries against purchase orders and assist in approval of purchase invoices and solving invoice correlation queries. Develop partnering relationships with suppliers to provide standard items at more favourable prices and negotiate preferential discounts and service. Arrange meetings with supplier sales representatives and resolve minor disputes where necessary.
Credit Rating
Establishing sufficient levels of credit with potential suppliers and maintenance of files recording such agreements. Sourcing of new more competitive suppliers.
Communication & Interaction
Close liaison with Drawing Office, Materials Controller, Contracts Managers, Commercial Department and Office Manager to ensure accurate flow of all relevant information.
Meetings
Attendance of, and input into, regular Production meetings.
