Salary: - £30,000 basic + Package

Role Description

This is an excellent opportunity to join a Construction Sub-contractor based out of Wembley on projects based across the South East. With an extensive orderbook they are looking to increase their procurement / buying team with an Assistant Buyer working alongside the Procurement Manager.

This would suit an Assistant Buyer looking for more experience and autonomy to carry out material buying and learning about how the procurement function operate. Or the company is open to developing an Assistant Buyer from scratch, training someone that is working in the construction sector and wants to get in to procurement. With the confidence to pick up the phone, speak with suppliers, take orders from site and able to learn the IT systems.

Day to day tasks can include: -
  • Daily management of Material orders from approved suppliers.
  • Liaise with suppliers when processes and expecting orders on site.
  • Updating the internal Procurement system
  • Support role to the Procurement Manager in compiling monthly / Quarterly reports.
  • Liaison with the Site managers for requests of materials or services for their projects.
Required Experience
  • Construction experience is a must, understanding what happens on a site.
  • Wanting to develop a career in Buying / Procurement.
  • Excellent communication skills for speaking and ordering from suppliers.
