Morgan Asset Management, with assets under management of USD 2.2 trillion (as of 30 September 2020), is a global leader in investment management, and offers strategies across equities, fixed income, real estate, hedge funds, private equity and liquidity. As part of the Global Alternatives Division, J.P. Morgan Private Credit manages over USD 10 billion in assets across corporate and asset-based lending solutions. In addition, J.P. Morgan Private Credit is launching a European Asset-Based Lending platform to capitalize on growing demand for growth capital by operators and investors as well as increasing interest from institutional investors. The business will look to build a real estate lending strategy focused on Western Europe as well as continue to scale an existing Infrastructure Debt strategy.

Opportunity:

The opportunity is to join an expanding Private Credit team driving credit research and portfolio management focused on Real Estate Debt.

Requirements:

The business is seeking a London based individual with experience sourcing and executing Real Estate Debt opportunities. The expectation is that this person will represent the investment team and be "market facing" with many deal sourcing channels.

The candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and is also comfortable being part of a larger team. The candidate will work with all members of the team (group head, portfolio manager, other analysts, legal & compliance partners, operations team).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading all stages of an investment opportunity: from sourcing and due diligence through closing
  • Relationship building with industry participants to drive new investment opportunities
  • Ongoing monitoring of portfolio investments
  • Direct client interaction, specifically focused on new fundraising opportunities
  • Preparation of other ad hoc support materials/presentations for the business
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in adherence with the relevant J.P. Morgan policies and procedures as well as with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
  • Support business development, marketing and control initiatives as may be required

Essential Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in Real Estate Debt, preferably with experience in Europe
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and excellent presentation skills
  • Mature personality to enable various direct company, sponsor and investor interactions
  • A working knowledge of investment process/screening, loan structuring and portfolio construction
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • The highest ethical values in professional and personal conduct
