Description of the Business Line or Department

Within Société Générale’s global banking and advisory (GLBA) division, the global Asset-Backed Products (ABP) team with presence in Europe, the US, and Asia-Pacific is the centre of expertise and single entry point for engineering, distribution, trading, financing and advisory of ABS type securitised products, trade receivables and structured loans. ABP’s activity supports a wide range of institutional clients (large corporates, financial institutions, insurance companies and investors in a wide sense, such as private equity, fund managers, specialised funds, hedge funds).

Within ABP in Europe, the Collateral Solution and Emerging Markets (CSE) team based in Paris and London provides financial institutions, funds and asset managers with asset backed solutions for financing, risk management, scare resources consumption using securitisation and market techniques, with a focus on:

  • capital call / subscription line financing for equity and debt funds;
  • bespoke collateralised financing solutions backed by structured financed loans (such as commercial real estate or project finance in particular)
  • commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS)
  • diversified payment rights (DPR) financings for financial institutions in emerging markets (Turkey and Brazil in particular);
  • developing ABP’s contribution to the group’s franchise in ESG, sustainable and positive impact finance

Summary of the key purposes of the role

  • The role is under supervision of a London-based Director of the ABP/ENG/CSE team
  • Support the team in the origination and structuring of transactions
  • Support commercial initiatives
  • Execute transactions within the CSE perimeter
  • Monitor existing transactions
  • Become familiar with all CSE products, in particular but not limited to capital call transactions

Summary of responsibilities

  • Preparation of indicative term sheets for the ENG/CSE products
  • Production of credit applications
  • Detailed review, analysis (and negotiation) of transaction documents
  • Modeling of the transactions
  • Preparation of client pitches and investor presentations
  • KYC process, rating renewals and various other tasks
  • Drafting of due diligence reports
  • Working on ESG initiatives

The role must be performed in accordance with the compliance rules inherent to the business. It has to be done in compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory rules.
