Permanent/Full Time The Trustees are seeking to appoint an Aspiring Subject Leader of Science with effect from as soon as possible. Academy 360 is a rapidly improving secondary school in Sunderland at the heart of its local community. The person appointed would, in year one, follow the Laidlaw Schools Trust leadership training programme led by Sedgefield Community College (an academy recently judged by OFSTED as ‘outstanding), and delivered by a team of exceptional, highly trained and successful leaders, before gradually taking on a Science Subject Leader role at Academy 360. At this point the successful applicant would continue to access an ongoing programme of training and support as they develop the confidence and expertise to become successful leaders in their own right. We particularly welcome applications from those who might be in the early years of their teaching career but recognise the vital importance of outstanding leadership training. It would be expected that applicants can demonstrate notable impact upon student outcomes and a determination to become an outstanding leader, as well as the personal and professional traits required to successfully lead others. The Academy is a part of Laidlaw School Trust (LST), The Laidlaw Schools Trust is a growing family of seven schools helping transform thousands of young lives in North East England. LST invests significantly in the training and development of all staff and is able to offer all staff a wide range of opportunities and benefits. Academy 360 is an all-through Academy providing education for students aged 4 – 16. As a member of Laidlaw Schools Trust it benefits from the support of being a partner in a small local Multi Academy Trust which also includes one of the main feeder Primary schools for Academy 360’s Secondary school. The successful candidate will join a successful MAT where all Academies support each other to the benefit of our pupils and their families.
