Art Technician -Permanent, Part-time (20 hours per week, 36 weeks per year)

Culford School are looking to recruit an Art Technician who has good organisational, creative and IT skills to support the growing number of students and colleagues involved in the Art provision at the School.

Culford is a boarding and day school for over 850 children aged 1 to 18, set in 480 acres of beautiful Suffolk parkland, with an 18th century grade II mansion at its centre and three separate schools: the Pre-Prep & Nursery (ages 1 to 7); the Prep (ages 7 to 13); and the Senior School (ages 13 to 18).

Details of the Role

  • Part-time – 20 hours per week
  • Start date: 1 December 2022
  • £10.33 per hour
  • Term time (34 weeks) plus 10 days during the holidays and INSET days

Person Specification

The successful candidate will ideally have a background in Art, Craft & Design and be selfmotivated and flexible in their work, including:

  • Providing technical support within the classroom including working alongside students;
  • Preparing materials and equipment for use in lessons as requested and to assist with the ICT administration within the department;
  • Assisting in special departmental exhibitions and displays across the school;
  • Ensuring the well-organised storage of materials, equipment and work;
  • Maintaining efficient and tidy organisation of classrooms and studios;
  • Sharing our high expectations for progress for all pupils;
  • Working independently but also making a significant contribution to the team.
