Art Teacher Needed, North London Secondary School

An excellent opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic Ofsted rated ‘good’ school where all can thrive. This welcoming, supportive school is looking for a candidate who has a passion for teaching Art. This is a full-time position.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Subject Leader for Art and Design and Technology and play a key role in the development of the Art curriculum. The Art department offers a range of enriching activities to encourage students to develop their understanding of Art, support the taught curriculum and build students’ cultural capital. Students have visited Tate Britain and we are also holding internal workshops led by an artist for all year groups. Students can also attend art club and the art room is always open after school for students to use and develop their artwork.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement art lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.

- Teach students various art techniques, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.

- Provide guidance and support to students in exploring their artistic abilities.

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on their artwork.

- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects.

- Organize and display student artwork for exhibitions or showcases.

Requirements:

- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status is preferred)

- Proven experience as an Art Teacher.

- Strong knowledge of art history, techniques, and materials.

- Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their artistic potential.
