Art Interventions Assistant

Location: Walsall

Duration: Full time, on-going

Salary: £90 - 120 per day

The School/role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Art Interventions Assistant (HLTA) who can take on a full-time on-going job role in a fantastic pupil referral unit in Walsall. This role will include working with a variety of different students with a range of different educational support needs. The perfect be comfortable running sessions in art. They will also be comfortable supervising both 1:1 and group sessions, and will have experience delivering specialised art interventions to children with additional needs. The perfect candidate will also be confident in managing challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

We are working with a school in Walsall that are seeking a committed and motivated higher level teaching assistant to support students across the school. This will include supporting teachers with material preparation for lessons, assisting with displays and providing direct 1:1 or small group student support. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience supporting students with SEN either 1:1 or within small groups with their physical, social, emotional and educational development.

This role will require patience, commitment and the ability to provide a safe and welcoming environment. Experience or qualifications working with SEN children is preferable but not required.

The team within the school are very supportive and will help you along the way. The staff in the school aim to give the best possible educational experience for their students. This job opportunity is very rewarding for people who have SEN teaching assistant experience.

Requirements:

· Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant

· Extensive experience in SEN education.

· Immediately available

· Level 1 safeguarding certificate

· Relevant school based references

· Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport

· Full DBS – on the update service
