The Debt Management function is responsible for the management of customers in financial difficulty. We deal with customers who have emerging financial difficulties and/or vulnerabilities, right through the entire collections cycle.

We listen to and understand our customers, always aiming to serve them brilliantly. Working collaboratively we keep an open mind and can-do attitude to find tailored solutions to our customer’s challenging situations, whilst minimising losses to the Bank.

Purpose of the Role

Our consultants are responsible for the management and support of mortgage customers experiencing financial difficulty where all attempts to resolve the situation have been exhausted and litigation activity has commenced. They assess the circumstances and suggest solutions for the customer that help limit losses to the Bank.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain and manage external relationship with all third party suppliers.
  • Ensure service standards deliver the correct outcome for the group and customers in most effective manner.
  • Action fees in line with agreed service levels and are reconciled, all reports are keyed to a high standard
  • Ensure all administration activities are completed within agreed service levels
  • Manage Purchase Orders in line procurement standards and provisions are made annually for third parties.

This job can be done anywhere in the UK with the primary office location as Bristol to which travel will be required for in person collaboration. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of working within a regulated environment, delivering high levels of quality / service excellence performance
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good organisation and time management skills,
  • Proven ability to proactively manage internal and external stakeholder relationships with the ability to problem solve
