Architect & Design Development ManagerAs an Architect & Design Development Manager, you will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and growing PPG architectural specification share across both private and public sector projects.Key Responsibilities- Identify and develop a strong network of Architect & Design (A&D) practises and in house Client Architects.
- Develop strategic account plans for the top A&D practices (AJ100) and work alongside other A&D Managers to ensure alignment where practices have multi office locations across the UK.
- Implement the Office Master (CAWS/Uniclass 2015) proposition into target A&D Practices.
- Adopt a consultative sales approach to uncover and secure new project leads into the pipeline and identify the key drivers and considerations behind the projects.
- Develop strong specifications to meet the needs & requirements of the project (Golden Thread Specs), ensuring they are as outstanding as possible to PPG to minimise risk of substitution (through innovation, colour and support).
- Identify the ‘Decision Making Unit’ (DMU) and understand the balance of power (influence) across the partners. Work with the DMU across the contractor chain on all PPG specifications to ensure they are successfully secured.
- Work collaboratively to run specified projects successfully through the lead specification stages to the sales opportunity pipeline conversion.
- Maintain and handle accurate data records in ClientLink system; including account, contact and project Intel.
- Monitor performance and progress regionally via ClientLink. Provide weekly coordinated feedback to the Specification Controller and management team.
- Able to work under own initiative and manage time efficiently (Crucial)!
- Ability to use interpersonal skills to understand the ’real’ issues/needs (Crucial)!
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver both one-to-one and large groups.
- Able to think creatively and innovatively to build demand that differentiates us from competitors.
- Strong product knowledge and a firm understanding of the construction industry (Desirable).
