Purpose Of PositionTo support the review, analysis and drafting of reports for the delegate, the Commission is seeking suitably capable and experienced candidates to apply for the Assessment Support Officer role. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Director in reviewing all reports and evidence and drafting reports under the guidance of an Assistant Director for a delegate of the Commissioner.Essential Requirements
  • High level attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness in work undertaken.
  • Demonstrated experience in critical analysis, data interpretation and conceptual skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear and logical arguments based on evidence.
  • Highly effective writing skills demonstrating the ability to produce grammatically correct, plain English reports of publishable quality.
  • The ability to review written pieces of work against specified criteria, such as a set of quality standards, and provide feedback on compliance with the criteria and/or areas for improvement
  • Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard suite of Office IT applications and internal databases.
  • Experience of working within a human service, clinical and/or regulatory environment is highly desirable.
Key AccountabilitiesUnder the supervision of an Assistant Director the role will:
  • Use the approved audit report, the provider’s response to the report and any other information available to the Commission, to draft a detailed statement of reasons and provide recommendations for the delegate’s consideration.
  • Present the statement of reasons in the appropriate report template for publication.
  • Participate in the peer review of draft reports of other officers.
  • Keep records of activities undertaken in the Commission’s systems.
  • Operate in a fast paced environment while managing a significant workload which is required to be completed in accordance with set timeframes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of relevant procedures and processes and support and train other staff.
  • Undertake other activities as requested.
  • Complete all required mandatory training programs in the Agency. The timing and completion of the training will be discussed with the Agency’s contact officer.
