Apprenticeship Progress Mentor

Do you have experience in working with and supporting Apprentices throughout their programme by helping them set and achieve targets, delivery of Cross College themed weeks and have good organisation and communication skills? If so, you could be just what we are looking for!

The Apprenticeship Progress Mentor is responsible to the Head of Compliance for ensuring high quality apprentice and employer support in order that college apprentices are onboarded effectively, attend off the job training sessions, make good progress and ultimately are ready to pass through Gateway and end point assessment (EPA) to achieve in a timely manner. Team working and communications within an overall approach that values people will be of key importance.

Other responsibilities of the role include:

  • To deliver a planned programme of progress reviews which includes the setting of individual apprentice and employer SMART targets
  • To promote, monitor and support apprentices to attend and meet the College target of >90%
  • To support apprentice attendance at events and activities that support the personal development behaviour and welfare of apprentices
  • Liaise with: Team Leaders and teaching staff, Learning Support staff including Mentors, Parents, Employers, The Student Engagement team, The College Careers Adviser, The College Lead Tutor
  • Act as an ambassador for the College in any external activities so that the College’s good reputation is further developed.
  • To ensure One File is used to monitor Apprentices progress and ensure apprentices access this to monitor their own process
