Are you self-directed, hard-working, reliable and ready to gain a formal qualification to make a difference to healthcare within East Sussex? Then this exciting opportunity to join our friendly Pharmacy team in a technologically advanced department is for you!

You will need to hold GCSE certificates or equivalent in two Science subjects, English & Maths although L1/L2 functional skills support is available for the right candidate. To complete this Pharmacy Assistant Apprenticeship you will undertake a NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF) whilst also undertaking a BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science via blended learning. Study time and off the job training will be provided at work but you will need to dedicate some of your own time to complete the knowledge based study.

You will develop your skills in customer services and dispensing so you can provide medicines to patients safely and efficiently. You will be fully supported by our dedicated educational team throughout the fixed-term contract and advice will be given should you wish to extend your career further and use this as a step towards gaining a professional qualification as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.

The course is provided via distance learning and covers the skills and knowledge regarding legal aspects and procedures within the pharmacy environment. This programme meets the GPhC minimum training requirements for dispensing assistants / pharmacy assistants.
