Erwin Hymer Group are looking to recruit an Apprentice Production Engineer to provide support to the Production Engineering and Business Process Improvement teams. This includes working with various teams to deliver manufacturing processes and providing solutions to problems.

Duties to include:

  • Working closely with Design Technicians and Production team to develop processes
  • Compiling work method instructions (SOPs) - designing new systems and processes for the introduction of new products and the improvement of existing ones
  • Implementing production test procedures and methods for components and vehicles
  • Evaluating components for manufacturability
  • Evaluating and providing solutions to production process problems
  • Developing, installing, procuring and maintaining equipment used in the manufacturing processes
  • Improving factory/machinery layouts to achieve better material flows and process control
  • Designing/ making jigs, tools, fixtures & templates
  • Identifying major process improvement projects
  • Keeping manufacturing costs as low as possible without affecting the cost of quality
