About the Company:

Chugger’s Day Nursery and Preschool is a family run setting in Taunton, that provides exceptional standards of childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Here at Chugger’s we aim to provide an environment that will encourage children to develop into happy, confident, individuals. We foster our child’s natural curiosity, sense of awe and wonder, enthusiasm to learn, and encourage the children to explore and investigate a range of resources and materials using all of their senses. We work closely with our sister setting, Choo Choo’s Day Nursery, to share good practice and support children’s learning and development. We offer an outstanding and nurturing experience in a beautiful, warm and traditional environment. The nursery offers great facilities and promotes outdoor learning.

The role of the Apprentice Nursery Assistant is to ensure all children attending Chugger’s Day Nursery receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

About the Apprenticeship.....

As an Apprentice, you will undergo training to complete your Level 2 Early Years Childcare with our provider, HIT Training. You will not be required to attend college, all training is complete on the job, through coursework, online workshops and zoom. The apprenticeship will last approximately 12 months, but this can change depending on how fast you get through the course. There is also an opportunity for progression to go on to do their Level 3 apprenticeship.

We are looking for an Apprentice Nursery Assistant to join our Chugger’s family.

We are looking for committed, enthusiastic and inspiring individuals with a basic understanding of the EYFS. You must possess excellent planning and communication skills both written and verbal, be self-motivated and flexible and enjoy working as part of a team. A sense of humour is essential.

All staff will be required to complete an enhanced criminal record disclosure (DBS check) and the result must be received before your initial start date.
