ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Head Office facilities team in the newly created role of Apprentice Facilities Assistant.

In this role, you will assist the Facilities Supervisor in delivering the day-to-day tasks of a diverse facilities service, along with learning new skills in a Head Office Environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying maintenance tasks for Contractors to repair
  • Greeting internal and external visitors and liaising with security
  • Understanding Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and planning for future maintenance
  • Managing pool car bookings and ensuring the fleet is kept in good working order
  • Managing parcels for collection by couriers
  • Being involved in internal desk move planning and physical moves

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Level 2 Certificate in Facilities Services Apprenticeship, which is expected to start in September 2022.

If the successful candidate does not have Maths and English GCSE passes at Grade C or above (or equivalent), then they will need to pass Maths and English Functional Skills Level 1 during their Apprenticeship.

This Apprenticeship will be a mix of online and face to face learning and is anticipated to take 12 months to complete.

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period (37.5 hours per week). Normal Head Office working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, however flexibility will be required for occasional out of hours or weekend working.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team
  • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative
  • Adaptable working approach and ability to multi-task

Desirable requirements:

  • PC literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Basic Excel skills
  • English and Maths GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent
  • Previous experience within an Assistant/Administrative role in an office environment
