Arlo Engineering are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Apprentice Engineering Operative to join their team as Fabricator/Welder to fabricate and repair metal by applying appropriate welding techniques from specifications, diagrams or drawings.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to: Learn how to:

  • Read and understand diagrams and drawings
  • Cutting materials into requires shapes, dimensions
  • Welding/ joining metal into a wide range of structures
  • Operate tools and machinery and welding equipment
  • Inspecting and testing welds
  • Dismantling metal items ready for repair or servicing
  • Keeping tools clean and in the best condition possible
  • Keeping your work area clean tidy and free of dangers
  • Understand which PPE to use for different jobs
  • Working on various construction sites or workshop
