You will learn all aspects of Bricklaying, working on a variety of sites within the local area. You will be working alongside a ‘mentor’ who will assist in developing your knowledge and skills and as you gain more experience you will be given more responsibility.

  • Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components
  • Using mortar to construct and repair walls
  • Foundations, partitions, arches and other structures eg chimney stacks
  • Refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects

You will be working alongside a ‘mentor’ who will assist in developing your knowledge and skills and as you gain more experience you will be given more responsibility.

You will be required to attend Block release at City College Southampton as part of your Apprenticeship and will be assigned to an assessor who will assist in developing your skills as you progress in your career.
