The Advanced Application Architect is recognized by the project team as a technical expert for a suite of applications. This role is responsible for defining the applications required to operationalize the business initiatives, along with defining how the components of all the applications relate to each other, and how they will support the business need. You will be owning a set of technologies (full-stack) leveraging AWS and common industry standards. You will develop highly scalable, low latency, intelligent software that will have a massive impact for customers.

This position reports to the Director of Advanced Applications and can be located remote or either at Milton Keynes, UK or Somerset, NJ.

Include But Not Limited To

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop highly scalable, low latency applications
  • Write, review, and revise project architecture requirements and specifications
  • Commit to and enable the adoption of Infrastructure as Code” best practices
  • Understand client requirements and how they translate to application features
  • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
  • Provide technical support to team members
  • Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert on projects, overseeing the work of other project team members and being accountable for the outcome of the project
  • Maintain confidentiality with regards to the information processed, stored or accessed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 5+ years of experience with architecting and building highly scalable and low latency software systems on the Windows platform.
  • 2+ years of Scrum or SAFe experience
  • Demonstrated experience with a wide range of cloud services including…
    • Storage
    • Queues
    • Caching
    • Serverless computing

Required Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of operating systems and development tools
  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles
  • In-depth knowledge of design patterns
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL and relational database systems
  • In-depth understanding of tiered architecture systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Receptive listening skills, with ability to present ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
