Rotech Laboratories, part of the BES Group, are hiring an Analytical Chemist to join our growing team. We are a UKAS accredited metallurgical test laboratory, providing an extensive schedule of mechanical, chemical analysis, and metallurgical tests across many industries.This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-moving business which has benefited from recent investment and has strong growth plans. This is a maternity leave cover, contract of one year. What will I be doing?Rotech Laboratories has an exciting opportunity for a Analytical Chemist to assist with the preparing, testing and reporting of materials in line with agreed management system manual and procedures.Some Responsibilities May Include
  • Carry out all sample preparation including cutting where appropriate
  • Carry out sample preparation and testing of spark emission samples and reporting in accordance with the documented management system
  • Conduct Leco C+S & N calibration, preparation, analysis and testing and reporting in accordance with the documented management system
  • Carry out digestion and analysis by ICP-OES technique, testing and reporting in accordance with the documented management system
  • May be required to assist in Spark OES analysis
What experience do I need?Our team consists of the best, highly skilled and qualified Analytical Chemists and we want our new recruits to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do.Ideal Experience Includes The Following
  • Ideally educated to degree standard in chemistry or related/appropriate discipline or working towards, and/or relevant work experience in this area
  • Able to maintain competence of test procedures relevant for your role in accordance with the documented management system
  • Good analytical skills
  • Organising and Problem solving
  • Logical thinking
  • Decision making
  • Good inter-personal skills and communication both written and verbal
