This role presents a unique opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual looking to move back into the laboratory after an extended period away.

The Analyst role within Concept Life Sciences, Bradford is a diverse, practical one. The role involves supporting the use of, or using, analytical methods and techniques to investigate and report on the chemical or physical characteristics of test samples (substances, compounds, formulations, investigational or commercial products, materials). The aim of such work is to provide requested or required information in a form which allows for further decision making by stakeholders in those samples.

The ideal candidate shall demonstrate appropriate levels of scientific knowledge and technical capabilities when operating analytical equipment, and the suitable application of that knowledge, to tasks ranging from routine analysis, through to supporting senior colleagues in the development and validation of methods.

The ideal candidate will enthusiastically embrace learning new skills and the challenges of working to strict deadlines and changeable client needs.

While there are no requirements to be experienced in specific techniques for this role, as full training and support will be provided, our business covers a broad range of physico-chemical testing including but not limited to;
  • Physical characterisation including; particle sizing (image and laser diffraction), specific surface area, XRD, thermal analysis, water content,
  • Chemical ID analysis including; UV-vis, FTIR
Practical experience or sound theoretical understanding of some of these techniques would be beneficial
