Can you help us maintain our vehicles and equipment? Volunteering is flexible and can be a mixture of weekdays, weekends and evenings. Occasionally some overnight stays may be required. **Health and Safety Statement** We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment. We will also have a conversation with you to discuss any restrictions that may still be in place in your region and identify any adjustments you may need. Why we want you: We need volunteers to support the team looking after our emergency vehicles – these range in size from cars to large vans. You will drive them between Red Cross offices and make sure that their MOT and servicing is up to date.
  • Tasks: Driving vehicles between office locations and repairers.

    Basic maintenance of vehicles e.g. starting the vehicles, filling windscreen wiper fluid, oil checks, tyre pressure.

    Liaising closely with lead volunteers and co-ordinators to ensure vehicles are maintained to Care Quality Commission requirements.

    Maintain working relationships with suppliers and garages.

    Assisting with stock and equipment.

    Assisting with research and projects.

    Working to support Vehicle User Group.

  • Skills: Enthusiasm.

    Good communication and teamwork skills.

    Able to work independently.

    Basic IT skills using all Microsoft Office Packages.

    Full UK driving licence with two years of driving experience. It would be advantageous if this included C1 and Towing Trailer categories.
