Amazon Shipping offers Amazon’s logistic capabilities as a product and service. Amazon Shipping’s first customers are sellers in the UK, offering to ship their domestic volume using our delivery network.

Amazon Shipping (SWA) is looking to hire an Area Manager for the Network Performance Team (NPT).In this role you will work directly with the SWA operations team, problem solving, supporting to improve the network performance, diving deep, spotting and analysing trends, building business need for change and target areas to deliver the key goals within Amazon Shipping. Additionally remotely supporting the operations team across Sortation centres and Delivery Stations showing true customer obsession to our internal stakeholders to deliver for our end customer.

You will be a self-starter who is comfortable working with data and questioning the status quo to continuously improve our business. This role will require you to understand current issues, areas for improvement, sharing knowledge on new and existing processes, actively tracking trends and highlighting opportunities to improve and reduce defects including late deliveries, pick up failure, cost per shipment and seller returns. You will have a strong earn trust, bias for action and have backbone disagree and commit, be an effective communicator, but most importantly you’ll be passionate about putting our customers first.

You will also be contributing to the development of our operational product to deliver a world class customer experience to enable the delivery of our strategic targets (service, growth, cost).

You will have a true hands-on approach, operational inclination, good data skills and the ability to build and leverage relationships As this position involves regular interaction with multiple clients, you need to be comfortable communicating robustly at different level whilst also working directly with various functional teams and employees at all levels of the organisation across the Amazon business.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ownership and advocate for their area working continuously to ensure the highest achievement levels.
  • You will be a trusted leader of the team and SME in network performance developing effective relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Understand operations, and how we can improve our service to the shippers and better match their needs, identifying how to support the wider operations teams and simplify process.
  • Willing to engage in productive conflict resolution with key partners
  • Manage targets for all operational metrics
  • Candidate should be flexible to work remotely.

Basic Qualifications
  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Experience of working within logistics, transportation or parcels environment.
  • Display solid judgement on when to escalate problems, especially when dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience managing or supervising a team
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An ability and interest in working in a ever-growing and rapidly-changing environment.
  • A work ethic based on a desire to exceed expectations.
  • Substantial experience in supply chain, manufacturing, transportation or a distribution environment
  • Experience of change management/growth environments.
  • Expertise in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
