To assist the Training Coordinator with the planning and delivering of training courses for both new and existing employees ensuring compliance with Menzies Aviation standard operating procedures. Establish and maintain a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety and Security policies of Menzies Aviation and Airport Authorities. The role will encompass all areas of our Airside operations including Ramp, Cargo, Bag Hall, Presentation and De-icing. Training will be provided where necessary.


Candidate requirements

  • Plan, develop and implement strategy for staff training and development, establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of staff training and development
  • Assess relevant training needs for staff individuals and organisation, in consultation with department heads, including assessment methods and measurement systems entailed
  • Stay informed as to the relevant skills and qualification levels required by staff for effective performance, and circulate requirements and relevant information to the organisation as appropriate
  • Ensure Operational Support Manager is fully informed of Training plans for each individual staff member in order that rosters are kept fully up to date
  • Liaise with Airside Duty Managers to ensure staff are released at the appointed day and time.
  • Produce organisational strategy and plans to meet training and development needs, and manage training delivery, measurement and follow-up as necessary
  • Design training courses and programmes necessary to meet training needs, or manage this activity via external provider(s)
  • Organise training venues, logistics, transport and accommodation as required to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery
  • Plan and deliver training course personally where necessary to augment that provided externally or internally by others
  • Arrange for the purchase and maintenance of all necessary equipment and materials relating to the effective delivery and measuring of training
  • Ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health & safety, employment and equality laws
  • Improve upon the process of hazard identification and risk control (risk assessments). Developing policy, supporting the field operation to introduce safe working procedures and proactive audit programmes
  • Maintain and enhance a safe and secure culture within all departments
  • Implementation and auditing of the relevant Health & Safety policies and procedures within the business
  • To ensure full regulatory compliance and liaison with HSE, DfT and various enforcement agencies including incidents and criminal investigation
  • To reduce Health & Safety risk exposure and improve performance
  • Liaise with Airline customers at station level
  • Monitor and report on activities, performance etc, as required
  • Develop self and maintain knowledge in relevant fields at all times
  • To reduce Health & Safety risk exposure and improve performance
  • Deliver safety briefings and ensure SLS board is current
  • Maintain safety and training records
  • To provide guidance and advice on Menzies Aviation Health & Safety to all departments
  • Provide timely management reports as required
  • Assist EDI Safety Manager when required
  • Any other reasonable duties or projects as requested by Senior Management
  • During times when no training is taking place you will be expected to assist in the operation.

  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
  • Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.
  • Engage with MORSE and follow our code principles.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good verbal communication.
  • A full 5 year work/unemployment/education history.
  • Valid Passport
  • Proof of National Insurance
  • Proof of address
  • Full and valid UK Driving Licence
  • Criminal Record Check and Airside Security Clearance
