We are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Mental Health Social Worker to join our Adult’s Mental Health team in Yorkshire and Humberside with effect from 12/07/2021.
Supporting individuals with social needs and vulnerabilities, successful applicants will have experience of mental health conditions as well as the impact of exclusion or diminished capacity. They will be working with their own caseload and be expected to provide case management and expert advice to local care staff.

Applicants should be confident in risk-assessing to safeguard vulnerable people and fully aware of the importance of promoting autonomy and development in individuals with social care needs. They should also have experience of formulating care plans and be confident in contributing their specialist opinion.

Candidates will require experience of working with communities, individuals and families, promoting personal strengths and preventing escalations in need. Additionally, we require the successful applicant to have a strong focus on enhancing independence and wellbeing, with the strength of character and judgement skills to intervene when an individual’s mental health needs or associated risks indicate a requirement.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate that they can facilitate empowerment by promoting independence and quality of life through the application of the personalisation agenda (ie: support planning, at validation/risk management board discussions and group conferencing).

We require all applicants to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of legislation (Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 and 2007 amendments, Mental Capacity Act 2005), and present evidence of relevant professional qualifications (eg DipSW, CQSW, BASW).
