Here at Serco we are looking for an experienced Administrator to join us at HMP & YOI Doncaster, Yorkshire. Working within the Discipline office, you will be responsible for ensuring prisoners are held in custody legally, as well as processing and actioning paperwork, issued by the courts and other Criminal Justice Agencies in a timely manner.


As our new Admin Support Officer, you will check warrants/paperwork issued by the court in a timely manner and record this information accurately in both the prisoner’s paper & computerised Core Record. This is a specialist administration role, that requires flexibility and attention to detail, as the role can be very demanding and requires a meticulous approach to the work. Other key duties include:


  • Contributing to the delivery and achievement of all performance measures, contract outcomes and locally agreed targets including KPI’s/CDIs as outlined in your personal development review.

  • Ensuring that all grievances are reported to your line Manager when dealing with workplace concerns.

  • Committing to personal training and development, to ensure that your skills & knowledge are maintained at the appropriate level.

  • Complying with all policies, procedures, and legislation applicable.


What you will need to do the role:


In order to carry out this role successfully you must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to liaise and negotiate at all levels. We are looking for someone with a good standard of education including English & Maths.


This is a great role for someone who is confident in their ability to work alone using their own initiative, as well as maintaining good working relationships with colleagues both within their immediate team and throughout the establishment, along with partner agencies based internally and externally. We are seeking an individual who will relish the challenge of working within a specialist administration team.
