Admin - Licensing Assistant Reference no: Islington RQ762912 Pay rate £16.23 per hour PAYE To work as part of a team to provide a comprehensive support service for all aspects of the property licensing function Key responsibilities:
- Advise members of the public, councillors and other officers on the licensing application process and respond to customer enquiries.
- Manage processing of allocated applications within specified timescales
- Verify and process applications and payments
- Take appropriate follow-up action in relation to incomplete applications
- Write writing warning letters, preparing notices and witness statements
- Assist with data collection for Freedom of Information, Subject Access and statutory register requests
- Use data and intelligence to identify unlicensed premises
- Liaise with applicants, partner agencies and other council officers to progress applications efficiently
- Establish and maintain effective database and document management systems to ensure an accurate record of actions and decisions
- Reconcile payments made with payments received
- Minimum of 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) including Maths and English
- Experience of engaging with other people and explaining requirements
- Good communication skills, written and oral
- Good computer skills including entering information on databases, word processing and spreadsheets
- Ability to deal with people with tact and diplomacy
