ADHD Speciality Psychiatrist

Partnering Health Limited are seeking ADHD Speciality Psychiatrist on the Specialist Register, with significant experience of adult ADHD. You will be working alongside the Lead Nurse and Consultant Psychiatrist to diagnose and manage patients within a virtual clinic setting, including prescribing and titration of preparations in line with NICE guidance and clinical judgment
PHL provide a service to the Isle of Wight, receiving referrals for adults presenting with symptoms suggestive of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Patients engage with nurse triage, psychiatric assessment and, if receiving a diagnosis, may subsequently choose to proceed to pharmacological management of their condition.

Hours

16 hours per fortnight. There is flexibility regarding working days, providing they are within usual office hours

Psychiatrist Responsibilities

Provide a professional, courteous, and efficient telephone service consistent with PHL standards. Communicate information and advice to callers in a clear and understandable manner, adapted to the needs of the individual, using tact and empathy, and educating where possible. Prescribe appropriately for patients requiring repeat prescriptions and medicines. Manage the consultation in a professional and reassuring manner, and to respond to emotive situations appropriately and sensitively. To liaise with professional colleagues to ensure all patient related information is correct to enable appropriate prescribing and dispensing of medications to take place. Identify and appropriately refer to the patient’s own GP for vital signs or ECG monitoring in line with NICE guidelines. Identify child and adult protection issues and action these in line with protocols. To be responsible for timeliness of consultations, within the booked appointment system.

Psychiatrist Key Skills And Experience

Must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and on the Specialist Register. Must be recognised under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act. Must have experience of diagnosis and management of ADHD in adults. Must have experience of independent patient consultation, working autonomously. Experience of using EMIS or other electronic record system is desirable. Experience of using the Electronic Prescribing System is desirable.
