Interested in Acute, Urgent and Emergency mental health care? Would you like to develop and further enhance the provision of mental health care in Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership?

Argyll and Bute Health and Social care partnership extends over 6,700 square kilometres with 23 inhabited islands and around 17% of the population lives on islands and with a coastline of more than 3,000km almost 80% of the population lives within one kilometre of the sea. There are 33 GP practices in Argyll and Bute with a registered patient population of 88,280 as at 1st of April 2018. Community services for mental health and midwifery are based within our local areas of Oban, Dunoon, Bute, Helensburgh, Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay with the Inpatient unit based in Mid Argyll community hospital.

This post offers an exciting opportunity within Argyll and Bute HSCP. We would like to develop the Urgent, Emergency and Acute Mental Health Pathway. As part of this evolving acute, urgent and emergency care mental health pathway this role would require a flexible and responsive approach to care by developing skills across crisis interventions, inpatient care and home treatment options. Successful candidates may rotate within the pathway.

To develop this exciting opportunity we seek a dynamic and innovative team player with enthusiasm to support the role, will exhibit enthusiasm regarding multi-disciplinary working across local and service boundaries, and feel confident in working as an integral member of the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Applicants should hold a first level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).

Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery and across specialties is essential for the post .
