The Role

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will be part of a highly skilled team based in the UK and India, providing key technical actuarial services to the company. You will be given a diverse range of technical problems to analyse and resolve. You will be required to ensure that professional standards are followed, to follow internal processes and deal with issues that arise in a professional and timely manner.

HCL Insurance BPO Services Limited, a subsidiary of HCL Tech, provides business process outsourcing services. We offer life and pension administration services, including policy administration and claims handling on behalf of our clients. We are looking to expand our actuarial offering in the future.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Project Leadership – You will provide technical leadership for projects sponsored by various areas within the company. These projects may be driven, for example, by the client, regulatory changes, or technological development. You will ensure that such projects are delivered within the agreed timescales.

Technical Actuarial Support – You will deliver accurate and compliant technical and actuarial support to the Actuarial Production Services and Operations teams in order that they can achieve agreed service standards and timelines.

Modelling and Calculations – You will investigate calculation issues, develop calculation models, suggest amendments, ensuring that non-workflow calculation processes are in place, and calculate redress to policyholders where an issue has caused policyholder detriment.

System Analysis and Testing – You will review system specifications, identify root causes of issues, and specify amendments to data to be carried out by the data team.

Training and Knowledge Transfer – You will undertake training on systems, procedures, calculations, and product knowledge.

Other Tasks – You may be asked to undertake tasks and duties within any other Change IT area as required (with appropriate support given) or to undertake any other duties as may be deemed appropriate by your Team Leader.
