HOURS OF WORK: 20-25 HOURS to suit the individual (flexible on how these are worked)

SALARY: up to £25,000 (Full time equivalent - pro rata for confirmed hours)

A vacancy has arisen for an Accounts Payable Administrator, to join our team at our Barnsley head office. The purpose of the role is to perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties: -

  • Liaise with various sites within the UK to ensure the smooth and efficient processing of accounts payables transactions.
  • Opportunity to develop divisional awareness by attending site visits and building rapports with wider site stakeholders.
  • Review and verify invoices.
  • Ensure a 3-way match of PO, GRN and Invoice.
  • Enter and upload invoices into system.
  • Track expenses and process expense reports.
  • Prepare and process payments.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Ensure that the overall financial objectives of the division are met within the confines of his or her role. Key to this will be to understand the day-to-day risks of the business and overall business deliverables – including safety, operational and financial.
  • Ensure that a professional service is provided throughout which meets and exceeds the requirements of our service partners and stakeholders.
  • Required to support matrix structure and assist in driving improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall group finance function

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-

  • Knowledge of accounts payable.
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software.
  • Proficient in data entry and management.
  • 1-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience
