Essential requirements:
  • 2+ years’ post-qualification experience of working in an Accountancy Practice.

Mabe Allen LLP is a leading accountancy practice in Derbyshire. In fact, we’ve been in business for 75 years and have almost 50 staff across our three offices (Ripley, Derby, and Ilkeston).
Thanks to our excellent local reputation, our Ripley office continues to grow. We are now looking to appoint an experienced accountancy professional to this full-time role. This is a role with excellent career prospects for the candidate who excels in this post.
Key responsibilities:
  • In this role you will be hands-on completing personal and corporate tax returns, preparing and reviewing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Under-taking ad-hoc projects to include: company valuations, company reorganizations, acquisitions, and sales, dealing with HM Revenue and Customs inquiries and investigation work, the establishment of share option schemes, and preparation of specific tax advice and reports.
  • Liaising as necessary to obtain information and to meet any required deadlines.
  • Liaising with our Derby-based audit team.
  • Liaising with HMRC and clients.

Essential requirements:
  • Be AAT / ACA / ACCA qualified.
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience of working in an accountancy practice.
  • Taxation and accounts experience.
  • Significant experience in private, corporate tax, and accounts.
  • Knowledge of various accounts packages including Sage, Xero, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills as a minimum.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of general VAT advice/CIS.
  • Full driving licence.
  • We can only consider individuals who are eligible to work within the UK.

Desirable attributes:
  • Experience of using IRIS software.
  • Chartered Institute of Taxation qualified or part-qualified at final exam stage.
