My client is looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.

The role is starting asap and will be a temporary to permanent placement.

Bookkeeper job duties include working closely with the team to create and analyse financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and vat records.

With excellent Excel and IT skills, along with the ability to work on your own initiative, you will be a key player in ensuring that the administration department of the business flows smoothly, ensuring that optimum levels of customer service are maintained at all times. You will be required to maintain a clear and well documented filing system and record keeping.
Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.

Key Responsibilities

· Accurate data entry of all invoices and sales receipts

· Daily customer order processing / Invoicing using in House and Xero IT systems

· Highly organised and attention to detail

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Strong organisational/time management

· Excellent communication skills

End of the month produce a monthly invoice report matching sales invoices and purchases, ensuring income and costs and accurately matched in the correct period.

Provide a daily/weekly payment schedule for suppliers in line with the agreed Terms of payment, for final authorisation by the Finance Director

Chase up outstanding payments on a regular basis

Issue purchase orders, allocate time sheet, feed back profit or loss on each order

Xero – enter all purchase invoices on to Xero accounting system ready for the accountant to oversee.

Filing of all sales invoices / purchase invoices

Place Stationary orders for the office as and when required

Assisting colleagues wherever required

Requirements and skills

  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills

Hours of employment: Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. (25 hours)

Paying £11.00 - £12.00 per hour dependant on experience
