Due to continued growth on behalf of our established client we are seeking to recruit a new Accountant who will be part of their Accountancy Services & Business Advice team. This role will see the successful applicant report directly to the partners.

What the role will entail?
  • Statutory accounts preparation and regular financial and management reporting for a variety of limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and charities.
  • To prepare trust and self-administered trust based pension scheme accounts.
  • Prepare monthly payrolls, manage pension contribution records and submit required information to HMRC.
  • Record keeping and management accounts for a variety of clients, across multiple formats including excel spreadsheets, Sage, Xero and Quickbooks.
  • All aspects of book-keeping and monthly management accounts for group/related companies, including;
  • Weekly/monthly bank transactions recording and reconciliation o Maintain the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger within Sage
  • Make BACS payments on a regular basis to ensure creditors are paid in a timely manner, in line with payment termsPage 2 of 2
  • Monthly accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Cashflow review and forecast
  • Reconcile credit card statement and petty cash
  • VAT returns All of the above, to ensure accounting records accurately reflect business performance.
  • Responsible for the supervision, maintenance and development of Sage Practice Solutions system of time recording

  • Ability to work in a small firm environment and function as part of a busy team. The terms offered will be varied to suit the applicant, their experience and capabilities.
Salary: up to £36,000

Pension: 3% employer contribution

Flexible working hours within Monday to Friday: 37.5 hour week
