IntroductionWe specialists in international freighting and the logistical co-ordination, transportation and support of live events, projects, and specialist freight around the world. Clients include international recording artists, national and international sports teams, theatrical tours, corporate launches and high value brands. Our UK head office is in Egham, Surrey, with other offices in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Australia.Job Purpose and Context of WorkDutiesAs an account manager your duties will involve providing a high level of customer service to several major clients as well as coordinating with the operations team to handle all aspects of freight operations from start to finish including, but not limited to
  • Maintaining an excellent relationship with the customer through regular personal visits
  • Sales calls to the customer to maximise the amount of business given to the business
  • Plan schedules for all aspects of a project including flight / vessel / load in / load out, on site attendance / crew
  • Preparing and sending quotes to customers, including margin management to secure business
  • Oversee the compliance with documentation requirements such as ATA Carnet’s, commercial invoices etc
  • Manage overseas agents / other offices for movements into / out of their territories.
  • Ensure jobs are carried out in accordance with the agreed budget
  • Billing jobs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Act as primary point of contact for any account assigned to you
  • Reporting regularly to senior management at key stages of the project
  • Ensuring successful completion of each tour / event / project assigned
  • Managing supplier relationships
  • Training project coordinators / project managers to provide them with the skills to become future account managers
  • Keeping a close eye on the market to know trends of peak season / space issues etc
  • Ensure all jobs are entered into the Cargowise system in accordance with the guidelines, for all shipments for any client assigned to you
  • Full multi-modal freight forwarding knowledge including air, charter, sea, road
