We are looking for an experienced Account Director / Senior Account Director to run an exciting and varied piece of global business. This client is a sponsor of F1 so this is an opportunity for an Account Director / Senior Account Director to lead all of the brand’s F1 sponsorship activation. In addition to that, this person will represent Momentum inside a broader McCann WG team to deliver a range of diverse experience-led activations and projects from broader sponsorship activation to content to experiential to technology.

Here’s what you’ll do

As Senior Account Director, you lead the Momentum relationship with both the client and the wider McCann WG team, reporting into the Client Services Director on the business.

It is under your leadership that the client achieves their goals, the agency achieves its targets and your team understands their individual contributions to the success of the business.

To the client, you are as excited and passionate about the direction of their business and brand as they are. They are on a journey and they need trusted agency partners who are there to support them, anticipating their needs and making the most of every opportunity. On F1 specifically, there is a huge amount of untapped opportunity so your knowledge and experience of activating sponsorship rights and benefits will be of great value to a Client who is still relatively new to this space and finding their way.

To your counterparts in strategy, creative, technology, influencer, event production and agency leadership you are a true partner, bringing in the right expertise and opinion at the right time to move the client business forward.


AGENCY

  • Accountable for identifying and delivering client revenues of £1M, and delivery of these within agreed margins
  • Rapidly builds full knowledge of agency’s offerings, mission and vision – and that of the wider McCann WG team
  • Establishes effective relationships across agency multi-disciplinary teams e.g. Client Services, Events, Insight & Strategy, Creative, Technology, Talent, Finance, Influencer, New Business
  • Learns global agency structure and functions, and uses resources appropriately and efficiently to the mutual benefit of the agency and client
  • Provides specialist counsel to other agency teams and offices as appropriate – e.g. sponsorship consultancy, social and digital
  • Participates actively in the Momentum training curriculum, selecting courses relevant to personal development
  • Active involvement in new business pitches and organic growth
  • Ensures compliance with agency processes and policies

TEAM

  • Takes management responsibility for any direct reports, setting clear performance parameters and providing day to day mentoring
  • Works across teams and locations to create relationships built on respect and trust
  • Manages up effectively to agency leadership, tailoring the appropriate level of information to keep the Client Services Director, Leadership Team & Board informed on work streams and themes and communicates clearly, concisely and in a timely fashion when support is required
  • Adheres to agency processes and timelines on Talent processes – appraisals, career planning, promotion & pay review cycles

ACCOUNT PORTFOLIO

  • Responsible for delivery into the Client Services Director
  • Responsible for management and delivery of revenue targets
  • Develop strong relationships with clients
  • Work with the Client Services Director to maintain relationships with Senior Client Management contacts
  • Identification of new opportunities and conversion into project briefs and new revenue streams
  • Deliver additional value at all times through key learnings and past experience, recommendations and industry innovations.

Here’s what we’re looking for

  • Experience leading and building success in sponsorship activations. F1 and motorsport experience ideal but not essential
  • Experience in delivering experiential activations
  • Experience in delivering social and digital campaigns
  • Experience in executing broader marketing communications programmes
  • Experience operating effectively as part of an integrated agency & client team
  • Entrepreneurial spirit required to drive organic growth across the portfolio
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and agency colleagues at all levels - an effective and empathetic leader
  • Experienced in leading and developing a team of direct reports
  • Collaborative approach to partnering with strategy, creative & production partners
  • Ability to tailor communications and style to different stakeholders and personality types, always working with good humor
  • Ability to juggle a number of projects and tasks simultaneously and consistently deliver high quality work to tight deadlines and when under pressure
  • Enjoys high-level views as well leading teams to get into the thick of the detail
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • 6+years’ agency experience
  • Polished, professional demeanor, projects confidence and enthusiasm for the client & agency’s business
