DK is a world leader in illustrated non-fiction publishing and DK Learning is our new education division, offering visually-stunning resources covering all key subject areas, mapped to the National Curriculum, US, IB and Montessori curricula, aimed at both teachers and parents.


As Publisher, some of your main responsibilities will be:


  • Managing multiple projects at any one time with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Engaging in concept and campaign planning with creative ideas where appropriate and applicable
  • Creating marketing materials, from print leaflets, promo videos, reels & more
  • Creating / Managing brand guidelines for DK learning and associated products
  • Hands on design of internals and covers of books
  • Briefing and commissioning freelance designers and illustrators
  • Working with the web team and feeding relevant content to the DK Learning Website


During this maternity cover, you will be working closely with the Publishing Project Manager and the Senior Brand and Marketing Manager. There will be opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in the US, as well as our internal Sales division, and freelancers.


You would be passionate about education and educational publishing. You would enjoy a varied and consistently fast-pace workload. You would have a steady hand and would be someone who could ensure everything is running smoothly and see things through. The role would suit an experienced senior commissioner or educational publisher.


You will be a clear communicator who can work collaboratively with others to ensure everyone is working to the same brief. You will be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Whilst not essential, non-fiction knowledge, line management experience and experience managing budgets would be desirable.
