About The Role

We are seeking a 3D Digital Modelling & Visualisation Specialist who will be involved in all stages of project development, from tendering through to completion. The candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the work carried out, including assisting with generating new business, client liaison, and occasional attendance at public consultation events.

They Will Also Work On a Diverse Portfolio Of Projects Including Photomontages (Visually Verified) For Landscape Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) In Both Rural And Urban Environments

  • Renewable energy developments
  • Grid connection and infrastructure
  • Terrain and forestry changes
  • Transport infrastructure proposals
  • Public realm and landscape design proposals
  • Architectural proposals (day and night)

Photographic Montaging

  • Landscape and climate change visualisation
  • Working with the Landscape Design team to create visualisations at a range of scales and degrees of resolution to help interpret competition entries, detailed schemes and proposals for public consultation events.

The individual would be part of a friendly, experienced, and highly supportive team of visualisation and GIS specialists committed to high quality professional work with a strong emphasis on delivering effective, innovative solutions.

Involved in all stages of project development from tendering through to completion, the candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the work carried out, including assisting with new business generation, client liaison and occasional attendance at public consultation events.

The role includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.

The role is based in LUC’s offices in Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh or Glasgow. We work in a hybrid model with people being in the office a minimum of two days per week. There will also be travel required to visit sites, client offices and other office locations.

A full-time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working, and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.

Salary: £25,000 - £38,500 FTE (Dependent on experience).

Essential

Experience and qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or have a blend of knowledge and qualifications reflecting a similar level of expertise.
  • Excellent working knowledge of relevant 3D visualisation software (such as AutoCAD 2D/ 3D, Autodesk 3DS max, V-Ray, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Confidence in working with a variety of data formats and the ability to learn and use new technologies and software.
  • A willingness to take photography (training would be provided).

As a Senior Visualisation Consultant, you will be expected to also have:

  • Experience of leading your own projects, liaising with clients, contributing to new work opportunities and supporting team members in their own development.
  • At least 3-5 years experience in 3D visualisation, preferably within a landscape, architectural or urban design context.
  • Experience using Unreal Engine or similar realitime applications is also desirable.

Desirable

  • Application of your skills in a landscape, architectural or urban design context.
  • Familiarity with Resoft Windfarm, Wind Pro, Revit and Blender. (Training will be provided)
  • Experience of using Augmented or Virtual Reality apps to support your work.
  • Basic knowledge of GIS and / or photography skills.
  • Full driving licence.
