Senior Commercial Manager (Construction)

Location: South West London (Hybrid 2 days per week onsite)

Salary:£85,000 - £95,000 plus 4k car allowance 12-25% bonus

This role gives you the chance to join the worlds fastest growing airport generating £2.9 billion in revenue which represents a 140% uplift on 2021 and a procurement function that was nominated for the Sustainability Procurement Project of the Year by CIPS in 2023. This is a business with sustainability at the heart of their ethos. Their policy of Connecting People and Planetis targeting a 15% reduction in airside carbon emissions, 18% in NOx emissions, and 45% ground side carbon in the immediate future. As a key member of the supply chain, you will play a pivotal role in making these aspirations a reality.

Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the Head of Commercial Management to work closely with other senior leaders within the business to ensure value and business benefits are explored and realised. This includes a range of Construction (Consulting & Contracting), Building Engineering, Building Materials and Estates Management. The jobholder will demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement/management skills and will work closely with key operational stakeholders to seek this "value dimension" whilst also providing accurate and timely reporting through the design and implementation of appropriate contractual KPI’s. Success in this role will be achieved by delivering mature supplier relationships, innovative contract models and long term value through service excellence.

Experience

  • The jobholder will be able to demonstrate a strong commercial mindset underpinned with traditional Commercial & Contract Management expertise.
  • Whilst our client is open minded on industry background; experience gained in Client organisations or Cost Consultancies would be deemed beneficial.
  • Extensive experience in the construction sector with a strong working knowledge of the industries standard forms of contract and commercial model. Working knowledge of the NEC4 suite of contracts would be an advantage.
  • Excellent track record of stakeholder engagement/management - up to and including Board Level
  • QS Background / MRICS would be beneficial
