Job Description

Moorfields are looking for a Band 7 IT System Auditor who will have a good knowledge of patient administration and clinical systems including OpenEyes or similar clinical EPR systems.

The role of the Auditor will be within the Performance and Information department working with IT applications team.

The duties are as follows:

  • Develop a risk-based IT systems audit schedule to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements, good clinical, operational and administrative practice, departmental SOPs and applicable Trust policies.
  • Implement the IT systems audit schedule by planning and conducting all internal audits with assistance from external consultants as necessary.
  • Provide regular update to the CIO and other key internal stakeholders.
  • Audit the areas of concern (high risk) maintaining regular contact with the third-party supplier to ensure an open and honest approach is applied across review and audit.
  • In conjunction with other business units, develop a recovery/remediation plan for data quality issues.
  • It is the responsibility of all trust employees to fully comply with the safeguarding policies and procedures of the trust. As a Moorfields employee you must ensure that you understand your role in protecting adults and children that may be at risk of abuse. Individuals must ensure compliance with their safeguarding training.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that all equipment used by patients is clean/decontaminated as instructed by manufacturers and in line with the infection control/guidelines protocol and policy.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree level qualification
  • 2-4 years experience in similar environment or system
  • Risk analysis experience
  • Ability to develop audit plans
  • Ability to develop recovery/action plans
  • Ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Good understanding of Open eyes or clinical EPR systems
  • Understand the NHS and how systems support patient and clinical safety
  • Advances MS Office Skills
