Bankable is an award-winning FinTech providing a payments platform enabling solutions including virtual accounts, virtual & plastic card programmes, e-wallets & digital banking. We are currently experiencing exponential growth with a client base ranging from global corporates, banks, insurers and marketplaces to SMEs and FinTechs.
Bankable are looking for a dynamic, experienced Head of Finance. This position is critical to the continued success of the business and will provide leadership in the areas of Financial & Strategic Planning, Financial Governance & Reporting and Financial Operations. The Head of Finance will be based in London and report to the COO. You will be responsible for the financial planning, forecasting and financial reporting and will hold the overall responsibility for implementing internal finance controls. The Head of Finance will be responsible for the implementation of the financial framework, manage day-to-day banking relationships, conduct on-going reviews of the Company’s payments, accounting, and finance procedures, set up the respective local systems and controls and ensure proper reporting, both internal and external regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day financial accounting and operations activity ensuring completion of all key tasks within relevant timescales while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
Manage Month End and Year End accounting process delivering reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Prepare and maintain operating budgets, local accounting and reconciliation mechanisms and manage and oversee the cash flow of the company ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls.
Help drive innovation though process improvement, strategy, technology, and automation.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and periodic reporting of financial results to the Executive team.
Conduct profit and cost analyses, identifying funding requirements and cost reduction strategies.
Provision of support to the wider business on accounting matters, acting as a senior advisor to the wider business functions.
Maintain the Group’s accounting policy manual, including the assessment of existing accounting policies.
Preparation of technical accounting papers and memos, working with the Company’s auditors on both the Group and statutory entity audits.
Support the review, oversight, and preparation of the Group’s subsidiary statutory financial statements.
Prepare and file financial statements, VAT returns and company income tax returns, as applicable.
Recruit, manage and inspire a growing finance team.
Maintain and oversee banking relationships.
Requirements
Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent, with significant post qualified experience.
Proven work experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance, or similar role.
Significant experience in accounting under UK GAAP, including consolidated reporting and statutory reporting. Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP are advantageous.
Strong understanding of UK Company Law relevant for accounting and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge/experience of the fintech industry, specifically the payments and payment card domains and products.
In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping.
Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management with a depth of knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.
Demonstrated understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and requirements related to financial institutions, Electronic Money, and payments.
Proficiency in accounting software and ideally experience of using Xero.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and a proven history of working effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside the Company and within and across a decentralised international environment.
Proven analytical, organisational, decision-making and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to execute under pressure whilst meeting deadlines.
High degree of integrity, initiative, perseverance, and leadership skills.
Self-motivated with a desire to learn and contribute within a high performing environment.
Clear thinker with ability to understand end to end processes, navigate complexity and identify improvement & simplification opportunities, and design and implement solutions.
