About the team
In support of the growth of our compliance transformation business, we are looking for Senior Associates and Managers to join our UK Financial Services Consulting practice. We are seeking highly motivated and intellectually curious individuals to support our clients in achieving greater efficiency and effectiveness in their end-to-end management of compliance risk, not only by helping them to manage their compliance obligations but also helping them stay ahead of risk and regulatory changes and navigate a sustainable course forward in times of upheaval.
We have an unrivalled client base and breadth of project types across leading banks, asset managers and insurers. Our team has an excellent track record of delivering high quality work and has ambitious growth plans for the next few years. We are looking for individuals who are able to thrive in this fast-paced and complex environment and drive the development and growth of our practice.
As our transformation projects demand a range of skills and competencies, we are seeking individuals with backgrounds in regulatory management, operating model transformation, technology and/or risk management.
About the role
As a Senior Associate/Manager, the role will primarily involve delivering our compliance client engagements, including direct client interaction, ownership of key deliverables and some line management responsibilities.
In addition to client delivery, you will also spend time on development of key internal propositions and industry thought leadership in this area, as well as assisting in the client sales process.
Key responsibilities
Delivering client projects in compliance transformation;
Supporting business development activities to develop innovative solutions for our clients and identify client opportunities;
Contributing to our continued thought leadership to support PwC’s leading edge market profile;
Driving the development of your own technical skills;
Training, coaching and supervising junior members of staff;
Keeping up to date with industry news and developments; and,
Developing strong internal and external networks.
Experience and technical skills
Advisory and consulting experience in the Financial Services industry, including experience of project management, direct delivery, and staff oversight;
Experience of delivering change and transformation programmes in Financial Services firms (ideally with a focus on end-to-end compliance risk management);
Knowledge of key regulatory trends and developments, as well as an understanding of the role of regulation in the Financial Services industry and the relationship between Financial Services firms and regulators;
Familiarity with the key concepts of compliance risk management in Financial Services, including:
Risk governance good practice, and the role that risk management plays in effective corporate governance;
Risk management framework design and implementation, including the risk types that comprise an effective compliance risk management framework;
Risk monitoring and measurement techniques;
Risk reporting and MI;
The role of policies, procedures and processes in effective risk management; and
The role of technology and data in effective compliance risk management and the opportunities associated with new technological developments.
Familiarity with industry standards for end-to-end compliance risk management practices, with the ability and proactivity to seek out leading industry practices in new areas of experience; and,
Familiarity with key financial products and instruments.
Personal skills
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to craft effective deliverables and messages across multiple formats;
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships and to develop a positive influence both with clients and internally;
Ability to work well as part of a multi-functional team with a flexible and team-focused style;
Ability to manage small to medium project teams, including effective line management, delegation and delivery oversight;
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage finances and delivery plans in order to deliver client engagements on-time and on-budget;
Ability to synthesise multiple and disparate sources of information into a coherent and compelling point of view;
Adaptability and flexibility to adapt to varying areas of experience and client engagement needs;
Ongoing intellectual curiosity and commitment to self-development, with the drive and proactivity to work and learn across multiple areas of experience;
Ability to multitask effectively, and to balance client delivery and internal responsibilities; and,
Ability to work independently with limited supervision, and to remain resilient under pressure.
