The Houlihan Lokey Corporate Finance business has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defence, and other related advisory services for a broad range of clients. In addition, we have the proven ability to engineer and execute financing solutions that are essential for growth and success and offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities.
In EMEA, we work with a wide spectrum of companies, from mid-market privately owned enterprises to large multinational organizations. Scope

The Business Services team at Houlihan Lokey are looking to add an Analyst in London.

Analysts work on transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services, including M&A, private placements of debt and equity, refinancings, and leveraged buyouts.

Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst, you will:
  • Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information
  • Create financial models
  • Coordinate and perform business due diligence
  • Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations
  • Conduct research on sectors, companies and potential buyers
  • Value companies and businesses
  • Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients and prospective clients and professional advisors
  • Supervise and train junior staff members
  • Assist in planning of engagements

Qualifications
The ideal candidate thinks strategically, is motivated, detail oriented, creative, outgoing, and possesses excellent quantitative skills. If you have the following qualifications & experience, we’d love to hear from you:
  • Strong Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of full-time investment banking experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) – preferably someone operating at Analyst 2 level within M&A at an investment bank
  • Demonstrable experience in executing sell-side transactions
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
  • An excellent understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects and hit deadlines in a highly organised manner
